My Opinions on My Profession

Yes, for those of you who know how opinionated I am, this is the place to 'read all about it'.  You are more than welcome to comment on my musings, but remember, IT IS STILL MY BLOG.

A Good Shot v. A Great One

I am curious to see what people think is a good shot and what is a great shot. And then I am further interested in finding out of they can put in to words WHY they like one shot over another.

I think that most people can tell the difference but that since the advent of Digital Photography and the overabundance of inexpensive digital cameras and over-processing, they either don't think the difference is that great or they simply don't know how to go about finding the quality they want.

Of course, there are a lot of deciding factors. In today's economy, people are trying to save money. No one wants hard feelings within the family for not letting some member of it who fancies themselves a photographer do the pictures. Many would rather have their friend do the shots because of the reasons above and not because they are the most qualified. And then there are those consumers who would rather give up quality for expedience.

I'm putting two photos up here and I would like you to comment on them. Mostly I am looking for which one you like best and the reason(s) why. The actual differences are slight to me but the impact is worlds apart. I want your opinion.

I've been very fortunate to have some GREAT neighbors. I couldn't ask for better people, AND since their mother is a scrapbooker and likes photographs, I have access to some great kids. AS you can see, they photograph very well.

I'm kind of like Costco; I'm Big, I'm NOT Fancy, and I Dare you not to Like the Product I offer.
